Refractometer

Refractometer with ATC - (grainfather) (0 to 32% Brix scale)

Refractometer

A hydrometer measures liquid density, while a refractometer uses light to determine the sugar dissolved in the liquid.

Refractometers are most often used in beer brewing to obtain quick measures of the specific gravity of unfermented wort.

Regardless of the type of homebrewing you do, you can use this handy tool to find out the alcohol content of your homebrew.

Beer Making

This refractometer has automatic temperature compensation (ATC), making it perfect when dealing with hot wort.

Once your device is calibrated - simply take a small sample of wort from your brewing system using a pipette or spoon.

After waiting just a few seconds, add a couple of drops of the sample onto the refractometer and read the SG or Brix %.
