Shop swing top bottles for home-brewed beer, cider and other drinks. Choose reusable glass swing top bottles in 500ml and 750ml sizes, with clear or amber glass options. Buy individual bottles or 12-packs, all with attached flip-top closures so there is no separate crown cap to fit.

Choose Your Swing Top Bottles

  • 500ml swing top bottles: a practical serving size for homebrew beer and cider, available in clear or amber glass.
  • 750ml swing top bottles: useful when you prefer larger bottles for sharing or storing a batch.
  • Amber glass: helps reduce light exposure for drinks sensitive to light, including many beers.
  • Clear glass: lets you see the contents and colour easily, but store light-sensitive drinks away from sunlight.
  • Singles or 12-packs: pick up replacements or buy enough bottles to package more of your brew.

Are Swing Top Bottles Suitable for Homebrew?

Use bottles that are specifically suitable for the drink and intended carbonation pressure. Before bottling beer or sparkling cider, confirm fermentation has finished using stable gravity readings and follow the recipe's priming instructions. Inspect each bottle for chips, cracks, worn seals and damaged closures before use. Do not assume every decorative swing-top bottle is pressure-rated.

Prefer lightweight plastic bottles with screw caps? Compare our PET homebrew bottles as an alternative to glass swing tops.

Cleaning and Replacement Seals

Clean bottles promptly after use and sanitise them before refilling. Check the washer or seal on the flip-top closure and replace it if damaged or no longer sealing properly. We also stock replacement swing-top washers and swing-top stoppers; confirm fitting compatibility before ordering.

Swing Top Bottle FAQs

Do swing top bottles need a bottle capper?

No. The hinged closure and stopper are attached to the bottle, so a separate crown capper is not needed.

What is the difference between clear and amber swing top bottles?

Both let you package and serve drinks, but amber glass provides greater protection from light. Store bottled beer and cider in a cool, dark place where appropriate.

Can swing top bottles be reused?

Yes, provided the glass and closure are undamaged, the seal remains sound and the bottles are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between uses.

How many 500ml bottles will I need for 40 pints?

Forty UK pints is about 22.7 litres, so you would need approximately 46 bottles of 500ml before allowing for losses during transfer. Check the actual finished volume of your batch.
