We ship homebrewing supplies across the UK, EU and internationally. Below you'll find our delivery options, prices, dispatch times and the terms of our free delivery offers.
First Order Free Standard Delivery
New customers can receive FREE standard UK delivery on their first order under £70 when signed in to their customer account before proceeding to checkout.
If you're eligible, the free delivery discount is applied automatically when you checkout. No discount code needs to be entered.
To qualify:
- You must be signed in to your customer account before checkout.
- You must have no previous orders with The Hop Shop.
- Your basket must be under £70.
- The offer is limited to one first-order redemption per customer.
What Do We Mean by Standard Delivery?
For this offer, standard UK delivery means one of our normal delivery services costing up to £8.50:
- Royal Mail Tracked 24
- Royal Mail Tracked 48
- Standard Tracked Courier
The delivery services available to you are determined automatically at checkout based on the weight of your order and your delivery address.
Regional courier surcharges are not included. This means higher-cost courier services to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, Islands and other surcharge areas do not qualify for first-order free delivery.
Where a normal Royal Mail Tracked service is available to a UK address in one of these areas, it can still qualify for the first-order offer.
Pallet delivery and international delivery are excluded.
Orders of £70 or more are covered by our normal free-delivery offer where eligible, rather than the first-order promotion.
UK Delivery Options & Prices
Royal Mail Tracked
£3.95 - £5.95 depending on weight.
For lighter orders, we offer Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 48.
Tracked Courier
£8.50 for our standard mainland courier service.
Heavier orders are normally sent using a fully tracked courier service with an estimated next-working-day delivery after dispatch.
Next-working-day delivery is an aim rather than a guarantee and may be affected by courier capacity and other circumstances outside our control.
Free Delivery on Orders of £70 or More
Orders of £70 or more qualify for free standard delivery within UK Mainland areas, subject to the regional exclusions and surcharges explained below.
Eligible heavier orders will normally be sent using our tracked courier service.
Highlands, Islands & Regional Delivery Charges
Some areas fall outside our standard UK Mainland courier area and may attract a higher courier charge.
These regional courier charges are not included in our first-order free delivery promotion and may also be excluded from our normal £70 mainland free-delivery offer.
For lighter parcels, Royal Mail may still be available at the normal rate depending on the destination.

Regional deliveries typically take around 2-4 working days and include tracking.
All delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on courier capacity and destination.
Order Processing & Dispatch
- Dispatch days: Tuesday-Friday.
- Dispatch time: We aim to dispatch orders within one working day, subject to stock availability.
- Delivery estimates: Most UK orders arrive within approximately two working days after dispatch.
Delivery estimates are not guaranteed.
Click & Collect - FREE
You can save on delivery and collect your order from our Plymouth shop.
- Select Click & Collect at checkout.
- We'll email you when your order is ready, usually within one working day.
- Collect during our normal opening hours.
- Please bring your order confirmation email.

Delivery Instructions
Royal Mail: If you add delivery instructions, we'll pass them on where possible. However, we cannot guarantee that Royal Mail will follow them.
Courier deliveries: You may request instructions such as leaving your parcel in a safe place. Any request to leave an order unattended is made at your own risk.
International & EU Orders
We offer tracked postal and courier delivery services to selected international destinations.
- Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.
- Postal orders: Sent using a tracked airmail service.
- Courier orders: Sent using a fully tracked courier service.
- Delivery times: Estimates are provided where available but are not guaranteed.
- EU orders: Orders shipped to the EU benefit from reduced product prices, which will be displayed once a delivery address is entered at checkout.
- Customs & duties: Customers are responsible for any import taxes, duties or charges applied by the destination country.
International Glass Deliveries
Glass products such as demijohns, bottles and carboys are fragile and carry an increased risk of damage during international transport.
- We cannot offer refunds or replacements for glass products damaged during international shipping.
- We package glass carefully, but breakage can still occur in transit.
- By ordering glass items for international delivery, you accept this risk.

Special Cases & 'Dry Countries'
We can ship certain products to some countries where alcohol laws or import restrictions apply. Where we accept such an order, delivery cannot be guaranteed and remains subject to the destination country's import rules.
