How to Prime Your Beer
1. Sanitize everything: Your bottling bucket, bottles, caps, and all equipment must be thoroughly sanitized.
2. Prepare priming solution: Boil the calculated amount of priming sugar in 1-2 cups of water for 5 minutes. Let it cool to room temperature.
3. Transfer beer: Gently rack your finished beer into a sanitized bottling bucket, avoiding splashing and oxygen pickup.
4. Add priming sugar: Pour the cooled priming solution into the bottling bucket and gently stir to distribute evenly.
5. Bottle and cap: Fill bottles leaving about 2.5cm (1 inch) of headspace and cap immediately.
6. Condition: Store bottles at room temperature (18-21°C / 65-70°F) for 2-3 weeks to allow carbonation to develop.
