White Belgian candi sugar for authentic Belgian-style ales
Belgian candi sugar is the traditional brewing sugar used by Belgian breweries to boost alcohol content without adding body or heaviness to the finished beer. Because it is highly fermentable, it contributes little to no residual sweetness — leaving the beer lighter, drier, and more attenuative than malt alone would produce.
White candi sugar is the neutral variety, adding fermentable sugars without colour or flavour contribution. It is the go-to choice for lighter Belgian styles such as Tripels, Witbiers, and Golden Strong Ales where a clean, dry finish is the goal.
It can also be used as a priming sugar for bottle- or barrel-conditioned beers.
