Cornelius Keg Poppet Valve
A replacement poppet valve for Cornelius (Corny) keg posts. A faulty or worn poppet valve is the most common cause of leaks in Corny keg posts — if your keg is losing CO₂ from the post area, or beer is leaking around the disconnect, a new poppet valve is usually the fix.
Poppet valves sit inside the keg posts (gas-in and liquid-out) and create the seal that keeps your keg pressurised. Over time they can wear, deform, or accumulate debris, causing them to fail to seat properly.
How to Check if You Need One
- Apply a small amount of sanitiser or soapy water around the keg post — bubbles indicate a leak
- If the post is leaking but the O-ring is intact, the poppet valve is likely the cause
