Silicone Syphon Tube — 1/4" (6x9mm), 1 Metre

Food-grade silicone syphon tubing in the smallest standard bore size, suited to fine transfers and smaller vessels such as demijohns and 5L carboys. Syphon and siphon are two spellings for the same type of transfer tubing; in UK home brewing, syphon is commonly used.

Unlike PVC, silicone remains flexible at higher temperatures, making this tube useful for hot-side as well as cold transfers. The translucent tube lets you monitor flow and clarity while moving beer, wine, cider, mead or wort. It pairs directly with the Syphon Tube Tap for controlled on/off flow.

Sold in 1 metre lengths. Ordering multiple units gives a single continuous length where available — for example, 2 units = 2 metres and 3 units = 3 metres.

When to Choose 6x9mm Siphon Tubing

This small-bore tube is a good choice when you want a controlled transfer from smaller vessels rather than maximum flow rate. It is particularly useful for demijohns and small carboys where a larger tube can be awkward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is syphon the same as siphon?

Yes. Both spellings describe the same liquid-transfer principle. We use the UK spelling “syphon” across most of our home-brewing range.

How is the tubing supplied if I order more than one metre?

Multiple units are supplied as one continuous length where available. For example, ordering three units gives a 3-metre continuous length.

Can silicone syphon tube be used for hot liquids?

Silicone is more temperature tolerant than standard PVC tubing and remains flexible when hot, so it is suitable for hot-side transfers as well as normal cold racking.
