This 250ml glass trial jar provides a clear, rigid vessel for taking hydrometer or compatible spirit alcohol meter readings away from the main fermenter. Its stable base helps keep the jar upright while the instrument is floating, making the scale and liquid level easier to view.

Taking a reading
Transfer a representative sample into the clean trial jar, leaving enough room for the liquid level to rise when the instrument is added. Lower the hydrometer carefully, make sure it is floating freely without touching the sides, and read the scale at eye level.
Choose this version when you prefer the weight, rigidity and visibility of glass. Handle it carefully and clean it after use to prevent dried residue affecting later samples.
