What Else Will You Need?

Additional fermentables are required and sold separately. Choose one of the following:

• 1kg Brewing Sugar (Dextrose) – used for the manufacturer's stated approximate 5.2% ABV
• 1.25kg Mangrove Jack's Liquid Cider Enhancer – an alternative designed to add body and fruit character

You'll also need standard cider-making equipment, including a fermenter and airlock, cleaner and sanitiser, a hydrometer, siphon or bottling tap, and bottles or a suitable keg. Priming sugar or carbonation drops may be needed for a sparkling cider.

Brewing Guidance

Prepare the cider according to the instructions supplied with your pouch, then make up to approximately 23 litres. Ferment within the temperature range specified for your included yeast. Add the hop sachet at the stage directed in your kit instructions to bring out the fresh hop aroma, and use the sweetener sachet as directed to adjust the finished cider to your taste.

Check fermentation with a hydrometer before bottling or kegging. Mangrove Jack's published specific-gravity guidance lists an expected final gravity of approximately 1.002 with dextrose for Hopped Apple Cider; confirm fermentation has finished with stable readings over at least two days rather than relying on a single number.
