250ml Plastic Hydrometer Trial Jar

This lightweight plastic trial jar gives you a separate vessel for checking the specific gravity of beer, wine or cider. Taking a sample from the fermenter is easier than trying to float a hydrometer directly in a bucket or demijohn and helps you read the scale at eye level.

How to use it

Clean and sanitise the jar, add enough of your sample to float the hydrometer freely, then lower the instrument carefully. Give the hydrometer a gentle spin to release trapped bubbles and take the reading at eye level. The plastic construction makes this a practical choice for frequent testing where a less breakable trial jar is preferred.

A smaller 100ml plastic trial jar is also available for brewers who want to minimise the sample size.
