SafAle BE-134 - Belgian Saison Dry Yeast 11.5g
SafAle BE-134 dry Saison yeast for dry, fruity, floral and phenolic farmhouse beers. High attenuation, diastaticus strain.
SafAle BE-134 Belgian Saison Yeast
SafAle BE-134 is a highly attenuative Saison yeast for dry, expressive farmhouse-style beers. It produces fruity, floral and phenolic character while fermenting deeply enough to create the crisp, dry finish expected from the style.
The strain is Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. diastaticus and POF positive, so both its high attenuation and spicy phenolic character should be considered when building the recipe.

How to Use
BE-134 can be pitched directly onto the wort or rehydrated before pitching. Keep fermentation within the recommended temperature range and use the manufacturer's pitching rate for your batch size.
Important: Because BE-134 is a diastaticus strain, clean and sanitise fermentation equipment thoroughly after use to reduce the risk of cross-contamination into later beers.
Substitutes
Mangrove Jack's M29 French Saison is the closest active alternative in our range. It is also highly attenuative and produces the spicy, fruity and peppery profile expected in Saison and farmhouse-style beer.
Brewer's Tip
BE-134 is designed to finish dry. If you are aiming for a sweeter, fuller Belgian ale, use a different strain rather than trying to stop this yeast early.
