Crystal Light Malt (Crystal 150) – Crisp Maltings

An extra light crystal malt from Crisp Maltings, produced from high-quality two-row spring barley and carefully kilned to develop a mild caramel sweetness and warm amber colour while keeping a clean malt backbone. Crystal Light adds subtle toffee notes and enhances body and foam without pushing too much sweetness — perfect for balancing hop-forward beers or brightening lagers and bitters with a gentle hue.

Use at 5–15% to lift colour and add a gentle caramel layer. Around 5% is ideal for subtly lifting malt complexity in hop-forward beers without competing with aromatics.

Brewer's notes

Crystal Light contributes a warm amber tone and delicate caramel sweetness that rounds out pale malt bases. Excellent for helping session-strength recipes feel a touch fuller on the palate without adding heavy sugar or dark fruit character.
