Gervin GV4 is a robust wine yeast for strong, dessert and port-style wines where high alcohol tolerance is required.
It is a fast, low-foaming strain suited to demanding fermentations, provided the must has suitable nutrition and fermentation conditions.

How to Use
Sprinkle directly onto the prepared must. High-strength fermentation places greater stress on yeast, so good nutrition and steady temperature control are particularly important.
Substitute Yeasts
Mangrove Jack's SN9 is a neutral, robust alternative with an 18% alcohol tolerance. Lalvin K1-V1116 is another resilient 18% strain with greater aromatic potential.
Winemaker's Tip
The stated alcohol tolerance is a maximum capability rather than a guaranteed finishing strength. Sugar concentration, nutrient availability, pH, temperature and yeast health all affect the final result.
