SafAle BE-256 Abbey Dry Yeast 11.5g
SafAle BE-256 dry Belgian abbey yeast for strong ales, Dubbel, Tripel and Quadrupel with a fast, fruity fermentation profile.
SafAle BE-256 Abbey Yeast
SafAle BE-256 is a fast-fermenting Belgian ale yeast developed for strong ales where a fruity fermentation profile is desirable. It is especially well suited to abbey-style beers and higher-strength Belgian recipes.
Expect expressive fruity character rather than the peppery phenolic profile of a Saison strain, making BE-256 a strong choice for Dubbel, Tripel and Quadrupel-style beers.

Substitutes
Mangrove Jack's M41 Belgian Ale is a good alternative for strong Belgian beers, but it contributes more spicy and phenolic character. Mangrove Jack's M31 Belgian Tripel is another strong-beer option and tends to produce a drier, more phenolic and complex result.
Brewer's Tip
BE-256 ferments quickly, and Fermentis recommends removing or cropping the yeast promptly after fermentation when possible to help retain the beer's aromatic character.
