Reflux distilling without cooling water

The Still Spirits VORTEX Reflux Equipment Kit combines two air-cooled condenser modules with CREATE+ 2" modular components for a reflux setup that requires no additional cooling water. It is designed for producing clean, neutral spirit without needing a running-water supply for condensing.

One VORTEX module provides reflux cooling and the other provides product cooling. Adjustable fan-speed controls let you manage heat dissipation through each module. The included components can also be reconfigured for alembic distillation, giving you two setup options from one kit.

Compatibility and support

Designed for compatible 2" tri-clamp equipment and CREATE+ modular components. Check your boiler, lid or dome connection and the support requirements for your complete assembly before choosing components.

Still Spirits specifies a maximum assembly height of 1.1 m above its boiler lid or dome and a maximum total assembly weight of 11 kg, including up to 2 kg of off-centre weight offset by up to 160 mm. External support is recommended for assemblies outside these limits, a lyne arm extending away from the column, or any assembly that noticeably leans.

Common questions

Is this a complete still with a boiler?

No. This is an equipment kit to connect to a compatible boiler. The boiler is sold separately.

How does it differ from the alembic kit?

This kit includes two VORTEX modules, a straight column section and copper and stainless steel packing for reflux distillation. The alembic kit has one module for product cooling. The reflux kit's components can also be rearranged for alembic use.
