4.5L PET Demijohn Bottle with Grommet Cap

A lightweight 4.5 litre PET demijohn bottle for fermenting small batches of wine, cider, mead and country wines. Its square, ribbed design is compact to store and offers a practical, shatter-resistant alternative to a glass demijohn.

This version includes a screw cap that is drilled and fitted with a rubber grommet. Add a standard homebrew airlock (sold separately) and it is ready for active fermentation—no separate cork or bung is required.

Grommet cap or solid cap?

Choose this grommet-cap demijohn for active fermentation because it accepts an airlock. If you need the same lightweight vessel with a closed cap for suitable storage or other non-vented uses, see the 4.5L PET Demijohn with Solid Cap. Never seal an actively fermenting drink in a solid, unvented container.

Cleaning and care

Use warm water and a suitable homebrew cleaner. Do not add boiling liquid or use abrasive scourers, as heat can distort PET and scratches can harbour residue. Replace the demijohn if it becomes deeply scratched, cloudy or damaged.
