4.5L PET Demijohn Bottle with Solid Cap

A lightweight 4.5 litre PET demijohn bottle supplied with a solid screw cap. The square, ribbed vessel is compact, shatter-resistant and easy to handle, making it a practical alternative to glass for small batches of wine, cider, mead and country wines.

This solid cap does not accept an airlock. Do not tightly seal an actively fermenting drink in this vessel, because fermentation produces carbon dioxide and pressure must be allowed to escape.

Need to ferment with an airlock?

Choose the 4.5L PET Demijohn with Grommet Cap, or fit the compatible replacement cap and grommet. A standard homebrew airlock is sold separately.

Cleaning and care

Clean with warm water and a suitable homebrew cleaner. Do not use boiling water or abrasive scourers: excessive heat can distort PET, while scratches can retain residue. Replace the vessel if it becomes deeply scratched, cloudy or damaged.
