Ascorbic Acid also known as Vitamin C is an economically effective anti-oxidant for your homebrew.
Ascorbic Acid in Beer Making
When used in beer making it will reduce the susceptibility of oxidation haze, off flavours occurring and increase the shelf-life.
This is particularly useful when making Hazy IPAs, heavy dry-hopped beers and grain builds with high crystal malts.
Ascorbic Acid in Wine Making
It can be added to wine when bottling to help protect the colour from oxidizing and reduce the chances of browning and spoilage.
Be aware that its use will prevent oxidation but will also raise the acidity of the wine.
