Potassium Sorbate - 25g

An effective stabiliser which can be added to a wine to prevent/inhibit refermentation.

It is important that this is used in conjunction with sulphite, either in solution or as a Campden tablet, as otherwise, lactobacilli can produce an inappropriate geranium aroma and flavour in the wine.

Whenever sorbate is added, it is also a good idea to add some Potassium Metabisulfite or Campden Tablets.

Adding sulfite at the time the sorbate is added ensures that any naturally occurring bacteria found in the wine will not feed on the sorbate which can result in an objectionable flavour being produced.

Use at the rate of 1-2 g per 5 litres of wine.
