Weyermann CaraRed

A drum-roasted caramel malt, primarily used for reddish beer styles.

Produced from two-row German spring barley, it will stabilize the taste profile in various beers.

This malt is slightly aromatic, it contributes a gentle maltiness and subtle body to the finished beer.

Expect an orange-red shine, for a deep red beer we recommend a combination of Carared and Melanoidin malt.

  • Colour EBC: 40 - 60
  • Tasting: Malty Sweet, Caramel Notes, Honey, Biscuit
  • Usage: Up to 25%
  • Beer Styles: Red Ales, Amber Ales, Amber Lagers, Scottish Ales, Bock beers, Brown Ales and Altbier

Adding caramelised malts to beer increases mouthfeel and body, while also contributing to foam stability.

Subject to current stock levels, malt is available in bags of 500g and 3 kg.
